Indian cricketers Abhishek Sharma, a dynamic batsman, and Varun Chakaravarthy, a spinner known for his variations, have maintained their second positions in the updated ICC T20I player rankings for batsmen and bowlers. Hardik Pandya continues to lead the all-rounders category with 252 points.
In batting, Travis Head of Australia tops the list with 856 points, followed by Abhishek Sharma with 829 points. England’s Phil Salt is third with 815 points. Other Indian batsmen in the top rankings include Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav, at fourth and fifth place respectively.
The bowling rankings are headed by West Indies’ Akeal Hosein with 707 points. Varun Chakaravarthy is close behind with 706 points, ahead of Adil Rashid of England and Wanindu Hasaranga of Sri Lanka.
Ravi Bishnoi and Arshdeep Singh from India are also featured in the top 10 bowlers, holding sixth and ninth positions respectively.
The rankings have seen minimal changes recently for Indian players as India hasn’t played T20I matches since their series against England earlier in the year.
Meanwhile, New Zealand players Tim Seifert, Finn Allen, and Jacob Duffy have significantly improved their rankings after strong performances in the ongoing T20I series against Pakistan.
Seifert and Allen’s impressive opening partnerships, including a rapid 66-run stand in the second match, have boosted their rankings. Seifert is now 13th, up 20 places, and Allen is 18th, up eight places.
Jacob Duffy’s outstanding bowling, including a career-best four-wicket haul, has propelled him 23 places up to 12th in the bowler rankings.
Other New Zealand and Pakistan players like Ish Sodhi, Ben Sears, Zakary Foulkes, and Haris Rauf have also seen positive movements in the latest rankings update.
