The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has declared a substantial reward of INR 58 crore for the Indian squad’s victory in the Champions Trophy.

India secured the title by defeating New Zealand by four wickets in the final match held in Dubai on March 9th.

BCCI President Roger Binny highlighted the significance of winning consecutive ICC titles, recognizing the team’s hard work and global excellence. He mentioned this award acknowledges the dedication behind the scenes. He also noted that this is India’s second ICC Trophy in 2025, following the U19 Women’s World Cup win, showcasing the strength of cricket in India.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) had already allocated USD 2.24 million as prize money for the Champions Trophy winners. The total prize pool for the tournament was $6.9 million, a 53% increase from the 2017 edition. New Zealand, as runners-up, received $1.12 million, and semi-finalists South Africa and Australia each earned $560,000. All participating teams were guaranteed $125,000.

India has shown exceptional performance in recent ICC tournaments, winning 23 out of 24 matches in the last three limited-overs events. Their only defeat was against Australia in the 2023 ODI World Cup final, which broke their ten-match winning streak. Since then, India has achieved unbeaten runs in the 2024 T20 World Cup and the 2025 Champions Trophy.
