India’s strong performance in the Champions Trophy is reflected in the latest ICC ODI rankings, with Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli all securing spots in the top five batsmen.
Shubman Gill remains at the number one position. Rohit Sharma, after being named Player of the Final for his impressive 76 runs, has climbed two places to rank third. Virat Kohli, with a total of 218 runs in the tournament, is currently ranked fifth. Shreyas Iyer holds his position at number eight, making it four Indian batsmen in the top eight.
Indian bowlers have also made significant progress in the rankings. Kuldeep Yadav’s strong performance has propelled him to third place, while Ravindra Jadeja’s consistent economy rate of 4.35 throughout the tournament has earned him the tenth spot in the ODI bowlers’ rankings.
New Zealand players have also seen improvements in their rankings following their journey to the Champions Trophy final. Mitchell Santner has jumped six places to become the second-highest ranked ODI bowler, owing to his nine wickets and an economy rate of 4.80 in the tournament. He also ranks fourth in the ODI all-rounders list. Michael Bracewell, who scored a fifty in the final and was New Zealand’s second-highest wicket-taker in the Champions Trophy, is now seventh in the all-rounders rankings.
Rachin Ravindra of New Zealand, the tournament’s highest scorer, has made a significant leap, climbing 14 places to 14th in the ODI batsmen rankings and eight places to eighth in the all-rounders rankings.
