Pakistan cricket has been struggling for some time, despite numerous changes across various departments. From captaincy and coaching to the selection committee and administration, the Pakistan Cricket Board has reacted impulsively to the team’s performance over the past few years. However, the desired results have not been achieved.
Inzamam-ul-Haq, a legendary figure in Pakistan cricket, has issued a stern warning to the PCB. He stated that if a solution to the ongoing issues is not found promptly, the nation’s cricketing standards will deteriorate further.
“Over the last two years, the Pakistan team’s performance has been declining. If we fail to move in the right direction, this downward trend will persist,” Inzamam stated, according to Cricket Pakistan.
Inzamam also voiced his disapproval of the frequent changes implemented in Pakistan cricket since the conclusion of the 2023 ODI World Cup. He disagrees with these constant changes in the team and management, urging the board to carefully consider and address the underlying problems within the team.
“Repeatedly changing management, coaches, and players will not resolve the core issues. We need to thoroughly analyze and identify the root causes of these problems.”
“Instead of excessive changes, we must carefully evaluate where things are going wrong. Constant changes prevent players from gaining necessary confidence, and the situation will remain unchanged,” he added.
Inzamam also commented on Babar Azam, a highly regarded batsman in the team who has faced considerable criticism recently. Inzamam wants the board to restore faith in its players and collaborate with them to pinpoint and rectify errors.
“Babar Azam is a top-quality player. Every player experiences periods of poor form, but the national team’s overall performance has been subpar for several months,” Inzamam further commented.
“Have confidence in the management and players, and work together to identify the areas needing improvement,” he concluded.
