IPL 2025: DC Defeats LSG, Points Table, Orange & Purple Cap Updates

Delhi Capitals secured a significant victory over Lucknow Super Giants in their recent IPL 2025 match held at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. After opting to bowl first, DC successfully restricted LSG to a score of 159 for 6 wickets. Pacer Mukesh Kumar was the standout bowler, claiming four wickets.

In response, Delhi Capitals comfortably chased down the target in just 17.5 overs, losing only two wickets in the process. Half-centuries from KL Rahul and Abishek Porel were instrumental in their successful chase. This win was DC`s sixth in eight matches played so far, while LSG faced their fourth loss in nine games.

For the Purple Cap, awarded to the highest wicket-taker, GT pacer Prasidh Krishna leads the chart with 16 wickets from eight matches. DC spinner Kuldeep Yadav is second with 12 wickets, also from eight games.

Looking back at the DC vs LSG encounter, the Delhi bowlers, particularly Mukesh Kumar (4/33), Mitchell Starc (1/25), and Dushmantha Chameera (1/25 in 3 overs), effectively used slower deliveries. This tactic proved crucial in limiting LSG to 159/6, especially after they were in a promising position at 87/1 at the halfway mark.
