Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have officially announced Ajinkya Rahane as the captain and Venkatesh Iyer as the vice-captain for the upcoming IPL 2025 season.
Venky Mysore, CEO of KKR, stated, “We are delighted to have Ajinkya Rahane, who brings immense experience and leadership to the team. Venkatesh Iyer, a key franchise player for KKR, also possesses strong leadership qualities. We are confident that their partnership will be crucial as we aim to defend our title.”
Rahane, upon accepting the captaincy, commented, “It is a great honor to lead KKR, one of the most successful franchises in the IPL. We have a well-rounded and talented squad, and I am eager to work with everyone and take on the challenge of defending our championship.”
KKR is scheduled to begin their IPL 2025 campaign on March 22nd against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
