The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) presented Lifetime Achievement Awards to former Indian captains Dilip Vengsarkar and Diana Edulji on Thursday. The MCA also celebrated Mumbai’s rich cricket history and acknowledged outstanding players from the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons.

Vengsarkar, a significant member of India’s 1983 World Cup-winning team, led India in 10 Test matches and 18 ODIs. He later contributed to cricket administration as MCA Vice-President and Chairman of the BCCI Selection Committee. Edulji, with an international career spanning over 17 years, was a pioneer in women’s cricket in India.

Ratnakar Shetty, former MCA Vice-President, and Pravin Barve also received Lifetime Achievement Awards for their notable service to cricket administration.

Ajinkya Rahane, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan, Sayali Satghare, and Sanika Chalke were among the distinguished individual award recipients.

The MCA also celebrated the success of Mumbai teams, including the Ranji Trophy champions led by Ajinkya Rahane, for their excellent performances in domestic tournaments during the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons.

Fifteen talented young players were also awarded the Sharad Pawar Scholarship.
