Bangladeshi veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim declared his retirement from One Day International cricket.

In a Facebook post, Mushfiqur stated his retirement from ODIs, expressing gratitude and affirming his dedication to the country throughout his career.

He mentioned recent personal challenges leading to this decision, referencing a Quranic verse about destiny and expressing hope for forgiveness and faith.

Mushfiqur thanked his family, friends, and fans for their support during his 19-year cricket journey.

Rahim debuted in ODIs against Zimbabwe in August 2006. He retires as Bangladesh’s most experienced ODI player, having played 274 matches, scoring 7,795 runs at an average of 36.42 with nine centuries and a top score of 144. As a wicketkeeper, he recorded 243 catches and 56 stumpings.
