Rajasthan Royals’ head coach, Rahul Dravid, was not present at the team’s pre-season training camp for IPL 2025 because of a leg injury. The Rajasthan Royals franchise stated that Rahul Dravid injured his leg while playing cricket in Bengaluru. They expect him to join the team at a later date.

In a social media update, Rajasthan Royals shared a photo of Rahul Dravid with a cast on his left leg. However, the franchise reassured fans that he is recovering well and will be joining the team soon. According to their statement, Rahul Dravid, who got injured while playing cricket in Bangalore, is recovering and was expected to join the team in Jaipur.

Rahul Dravid took over as the head coach of Rajasthan Royals before the IPL 2025 auction. This appointment came after his successful stint with Team India, where he led them to victory in the T20 World Cup 2024.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain, Sanju Samson, spoke highly of Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who became the youngest player ever signed in the Indian Premier League (IPL) at just 13 years old. Sanju Samson praised Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s ability to hit sixes and mentioned that the young batter seems ready to perform strongly.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi was a surprising pick during the IPL mega-auction last year, with Rajasthan Royals acquiring him for 1.1 crore rupees. Born on March 27, 2011, in Bihar, Vaibhav Suryavanshi is the youngest player on record. He debuted in first-class cricket for Bihar in January 2024 at the young age of 12 years and 284 days. He also played for India U19 against Australia in Chennai the previous year, where he impressively scored a century in 58 balls.

Furthermore, Vaibhav Suryavanshi was among the top run-scorers in the ACC Under 19 Asia Cup 2024-25, securing the seventh position. He scored 176 runs in 5 matches during the tournament, with his highest score being 76 not out.

Speaking on JioHotstar’s ‘SuperStar’ program, Sanju Samson shared his approach to mentoring young players. He stated that instead of immediately giving advice, he prefers to observe how a young player wants to play, their preferences, and what kind of support they require from him. He then adjusts his approach accordingly. Sanju Samson noted that Vaibhav Suryavanshi appears very confident and was already known for his powerful six-hitting during academy sessions. Sanju Samson emphasized the importance of understanding Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s strengths, supporting him, and being there for him in a supportive manner.
