Following India’s victory in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, there have been shifts in the latest ODI rankings. Young Indian opener Shubman Gill remains the number one batter. Captain Rohit Sharma has advanced to third place after his match-winning half-century in the final. Ravindra Jadeja has also entered the top 10 list for bowlers.
India secured their third Champions Trophy title by defeating New Zealand by four wickets in Dubai on Sunday. Several Indian players have improved their rankings after strong performances in the tournament.
Shubman Gill’s consistent performance in the Champions Trophy keeps him at the top of the ODI batting rankings. Rohit Sharma, with his impressive innings in the final, jumped two spots to reach third place. Virat Kohli also remains in the top five ODI batters, holding the fifth position after scoring 218 runs in the tournament.
New Zealand players Daryl Mitchell, Rachin Ravindra, and Glenn Phillips have also climbed up the ODI batting rankings. Mitchell is now sixth, Ravindra is 14th, and Phillips is 24th. New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner made significant progress in the ODI bowling rankings.
Santner’s nine wickets in the Champions Trophy, including two in the final, have propelled him six places up to second in the ODI bowler rankings. Only Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana is currently ranked higher.
Michael Bracewell of New Zealand also improved his position, moving up ten places to 18th in the bowling rankings. Two Indian spinners have also risen in the top 10 bowler rankings due to their performances in the Champions Trophy.
Kuldeep Yadav is now third, gaining three places after taking seven wickets in the tournament. Ravindra Jadeja moved up three spots to tenth, taking five wickets during India’s unbeaten run in the event.
In the ODI all-rounder rankings, Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai continues to lead. However, New Zealand players are closing in after their strong showing in the Champions Trophy. Mitchell Santner is now fourth, Michael Bracewell is seventh, and Rachin Ravindra is eighth. Ravindra’s impressive tournament, which included two centuries and three wickets, earned him the ‘Player of the Tournament’ award.
